After the kids left we had a very relaxing week of camping up in the mountains. It rained every afternoon with big thunderstorms that rolled through. We saw a rainbow I think everyday. It was so nice to have cooler weather and thunderstorms everyday.

One day we went for a bike ride down in Black Hawk.  It was pretty depressing when we took the easy route and a lot of other people older then us were taking the moderate and hard routes.  I think we will need to step up our game soon.

We took a drive on a dirt road that was called “The Oh My God” road near Idaho springs.  It is a 12 mile scenic drive known for its switch backs.  We saw some very old mining buildings.

One day we went into Idaho Springs, walked the cute little town and ate a very yummy pizza at BeauJo’s.  Their specialty is to put honey on the pizza crust.  I tried it but since I am not a honey person I didn’t really like it but everyone else really enjoyed it.

We took a drive down to Red Rocks Amphitheater.  As soon as we started walking down the stairs it started raining on us. We took a break down at the bottom and once the rain let up a little bit we walked back up the stairs.  Its such an awesome place that we had to go down and up the stairs.  It would be such a great place to see a concert one day. The visitor center was awesome. It had signs for every year that listed every performance since it opened up.  It even has a restaurant that you can eat at for lunch. We went back there the next day and had lunch with Kanan before we left the area.

Our time in Central City is coming to close and we had to move back down to the city.  We really enjoyed our time up there, the RV park was great and we would definitely go back there again.
