We then moved back down to the Loveland, CO area. We found a RV park back in the hills. I wasn’t sure if I was going to like it since it was all dirt, no pavement anywhere. We pulled into the campground and backed into our riverside campsite that was on The Big Thompson River. I did go ahead and buy a big rug to put down outside to keep from bringing mud inside since it always rains here.
We drove to Boyd Lake State Park and rode our bikes around the lake and up a ways on a bike path. This path took us by corn fields, hay fields, cows, horses, ranches and of course the lake. I don’t think I have ever been on a walking/bike path that had so much to look at. It was a little hot so we called it quits, we ended up riding our bikes for 13 miles.
We were able to get out and fish at the river. There were no bites but it was so nice to be next to water. The river was pretty full the first day we got there. Then we noticed that it went a little low, then we had a big rain storm and the water turned brown from all the run off above the river. It took a few days to clear up but then it turned pretty clear again. We stayed here for 2 weeks and then headed off to our next spot.
