Off we go to Steamboat Springs, Colorado to see the cute little touristy town. It was going to be quite a long drive so we decided to make it an overnight trip. The drive was great as we went a longer roundabout way to get up there but, we have the time so why not just explore and enjoy the drive. The route we took went by Winter Park, Fraser, and some other little towns. There are so many lakes and rivers that I lost count.
I kept looking out the window to see if I could see any wildlife outside. I did get lucky and spotted a Bald Eagle, so we slowed down, stopped, took many pictures, and I even got a video of the massive bird taking flight. The bird was just sitting in a very pretty green grass area. After he took flight he landed on a post sitting in the middle of the green grass and of course there was a small stream next to it.
After about 3 hours on the road we finally started seeing more homes and up ahead was the town of Steamboat Springs. We checked into our hotel and went back out and started seeing the town. Found a good brewery called “Storm Peak Brewing Company”. Checked out a few other RV Parks, thinking that maybe we can stay up there for a long weekend next summer. Next was dinner, we ate at a good Mexican Restaurant called Taco Cabo, it was right next to the Yampa River so we got to see White Water Rafters going by, very cool! It was so warm down in the Denver area, I think a lot of people left that area and came up to the mountains.
